i watched more metal cardbot s and im not a big fan of the formulaic premise of enslaving bots over and over ............................ik its a very gimmicky show with toys in mind with all the mecha tech involved in action scenes, the cards, etc, yet i cant help but compare the protagonist's maturity to the maturity of Yuuta in BPJD (given how much similarity there is in a few of the character designs). And the difference is astounding. Yes Jun, it is a Good Idea to imprison Fleta Z after beating his ass for being against the metal card watch's control over bots. what is the message the show is trying to put out omg.
The original goal of Blue Cop and Jun was to capture bots acting out of control, though the meaning of it is inconsistent?? With Megatruck he was simply dancing and scaring humans in public without being outright aggressive, though it was enough to warrant for him to be captured. I don't know the name of the neon purple and green mech Jun's mother interacted with, however he's an even worser example of how the bots are treated? Of course, you would be concerned your mom is with a rogue bot, but to misinterpret her as being held hostage when he behaves complacently with her????? Bows to her???? Then kicking his ass anyway????? YOU'RE THE ONE WHO STARTED IT? ??????HE WASN'T ACTING OUT OF CONTROL?? Awful.
I will watch more just to see the bots interact and themselves only...it would be better if the idea of the metal card was that the bots willingly give themselves up to Jun rather than being stuck into the cards. So-called claiming the watch is for friendship. ok

Hello again :)
I have a question(s?) regarding our largest occupant of the Manor;
Z!
Since it takes multiple Souls to form a Figure-type Puppet, and since you implied that souls can transfer skills from their previous life, wouldn’t that imply that all of Z’s skills came from her past lives and NOT from her Puppet programming? If so, does her programming just dictate her behaviour? Is it like the conductor of an orchestra?
Where do you draw the line Past-Life Knowledge and Artificial programming? And where is Z in all of this?
(Sorry if this is a bit confusing and a lot, it’s been a while since I done this, can you tell Z is my favourite? *smile*)
Hello chronic, always nice to see you in my asks again :)
Yeah, so- remember when I said that some asks may be answered with half-truths? uh, yeah haha!!
Z's skills absolutely came from past life, 100%.
A directive for most Puppets actually works more so kinda like a sleeper agent activation phrase; for the non-crazy ones, that is. Once a Puppet undergoes the Madness route, it makes the directive their whole personality and pronouns, and this is what makes it hard to reform a once crazy Puppet to a functioning independent individual.
Killing their boss forms and letting them have a chill time in the void simply ain't enough, chief. It's not easy to fix something that was broken, but it can still be fixed nonetheless.
Going back to directives, if it wasn't obvious, people were actually interviewed about themselves before being turned into Puppets. These interviews helped the Puppetmakers decide where to put certain people in, since if the job aligns with the soul's interests, the puppet performs 10x more effectively than just putting random people in random puppet bodies. Literally using their passions and interests against them, and the directives makes sure they do that job, whether they like it or not.
It's why Z's a builder, why Gangle's a storyteller, why Kingr's a general, why Ragatha's a maid for a famous collector, and why Jax is an entertainer.
There was only one exception to this Puppet-making method where everything had to be rebuilt and programmed from the ground up to make them hyperfocused on their job and deliver with deadly precision, regardless of who they were in their past life, and oh boy, was it such a resource-expensive endeavor.

the conflation of Zionism, the state of Israel, and Judaism is the worst thing on the planet, actually. Saying that supporting Palestine is antisemitism not only makes the struggle against genocide worse but it also makes the struggle against antisemitism worse! The more we conflate antizionism with antisemitism the less we will be able to spot actual antisemitism and the more we will harm the Jewish community and it is the greatest betrayal to Jewish people of all. Zionists (and 'leftists' who's hate for antisemitism is stronger than their love for jewish people and therefore inact alienation and conflation themselves) are doing a huge disservice to Jewish people (especially Jewish people who support Palestine and are being attacked by zionists and face so much antisemitism from zionists) and it's sickening.
I'm saying this as a non-jewish black person. You can SEE how much ACTUAL antisemitism is affecting the Jewish community but zionists are trying to conflate that with pro-palestinian protests and it's so frustrating.
How can zionists say that "from the river to the sea" is more colonialist than "we want '48"?
This post was inspired by an interview on MSNBC about the book "uncomfortable conversations with a jew" and seeing how they're also trying to frame antizionism and anti-Israel protests as equivalent to the civil rights protests and efforts towards freedom from the black community is sickening. This is an actual conversation to be had about antisemitism, antiblackness and intersectional activism and class solidarity between the Jewish community and the black community but the way they frame it in this lense is the biggest disservice, not just to the black and Jewish community but to every marginalized community. You CANNOT say that Israel's efforts to ethnically cleanse and genocide Palestine is the same as the African diaspora's (but specifically African American's) fight for rights and freedom, especially since the two biggest faces of the civil rights movement (Martin Luther King Jr. And Malcolm X, who was a pan African) were for the Jewish community AND for Palestine.
please. We can be pro-palestine and support Jewish people. That is something you can do. And I ENCOURAGE it.
Zionism ≠ judaism. Israel ≠ judaism. We understand this the same way we understand that nazi ≠ German citizens and that the state of russia ≠ russian citizens.

Hey sysblr, has anyone experienced an alter regressing not in age, but in memory?
One of our alters (nameless for privacy sake) has been with us for five years. And suddenly he just doesn't remember anything about the system, or his time with us, or anything.
I'll be honest it's really stressful for him and the rest of us. Any advice?

oh damn just realized im the dumbest. This entire time I assumed I assumed Mark was typing his logs, but that's not true is it? He couldn't have been typing them while he was in the airlock. God damn it, they were audio logs the whole time weren't they? fuck EDIT: I was wrong. Should've trusted my initial thoughts, his airlock logs were marked specifically "audio logs" which implies the other logs were not audio. Sorry for accidentally spreading 'The Martian' misinformation. I am dumb so please nobody else think they're dumb!!

Tumblr media
I feel like tags like these were inevitable on the post about people traumatising themselves for the greater good or w/e... There is SO much emphasis on posting on tumblr and other social media being so important and so useful and we must never stop. But I would like to counterargue with the idea that posting on social media (especially tumblr) constantly does very little/nothing. If that was true then the point here becomes meaningless.
#i guess i must be broken according to this person because i don't seem to feel emotions the way they feel helps palestine#activists in palestine are also calling for a general strike where no one goes to work and that has yet to materialise in a meaningful way#because people keep watering it down by saying 'oh it's ok just post constantly/about nothing else than palestine on social media'#yeah awesome great- look i'm sure there are people in palestine saying get the word out about our suffering etc#but they are also calling for more meaningful symbolic gestures like strikes which as far as I know no western country has delivered#because that would take a lot of organising and much less guilt tripping and people spending all their time posting#and comfort always comes up- comfort and discomfort- what even is comfort?#is feeling ok in your own mind an insult to palestine?#are there people losing everything in wars feeling better because someone in the west feels really really bad about their pain?#like sorry to be facetious but what on earth does any of this rhetoric accomplish#i spent years thinking like this and it made me so sick and now i'm better i am DONE with it- i cannot go back to this thinking#i can only live if i bend away from this kind of thinking like a plant to light- and i want to help others but people just won't stop#please- post on social media if you like. it doesn't help anyone to view the depths of their pain and feel bad#it is better to look towards hope a ceasefire and a resolution and end to the killing of palestinians for good#that can happen!!!#i think avoiding misinformation and dehumanising rhetoric about either side is also very important#i fully believe you can only understand geopolitics and war if you see everyone as human

HEY.
I'M FINALLY GETTING AN ACCORDION.
Do you have any advice on starting? Specific easy songs, techniques to pick up, mistakes to avoid? Maintenance I should be ready for? (I figure this would vary by type, but still.) It's a Hohner Student II, 12 bass piano.
I'm sorry to bring this news knowing you've had to put it to the side for a while, but I hope you can take heart knowing somebody else has seen your passion and that it was reason to take steps forward.
first off, i’m SO excited for you!! the accordion has been such a treat for me and i am bursting with joy knowing you’re picking it up soon! seriously, the thought of me in any way inspiring someone else to learn the instrument is so monumentally amazing that i can’t even process all my excitement!!
secondly, i wanna clarify again that i’m very much a beginner and my overall knowledge about accordions is unfortunately still very baseline. i’m not sure how much our accordions differ because i actually cannot remember the specifics of the accordion i’ve been renting, but i think mine is on the much larger side, older, and definitely not a student accordion.
Tumblr media
it’s a Lira and that’s all i know. i feel really silly for not retaining any of this information even after all this time, but details slide off my brain way too easily. when i see my teacher tomorrow i will try to ask her again and write it all down.
some general rules of thumb would include:
always keep your accordion in a comfortable temperature. basically, if you’re uncomfy, your accordion is also unhappy. accordions have wax, leather and reed elements that can easily stress in extremes and they will live longest in controlled temps. [direct sunlight is also bad]
keep your accordion covered or in a case while you’re not using it. dust is really bad for the instrument and can clog elements. i’ve left mine not only in the open uncovered, but right under my AC for several weeks on end before [which was extremely careless of me], and it hasn’t been an issue yet but it keeps me up at night. just a blanket over it should be fine.
never extend or press the bellows without pressing a key or the air button. this can cause compression leaks in areas of the accordion.
the booklet my teacher prepared for me recommends the instrument be polished once a month with a soft cloth using either accordion polish or a good substitute, like Liquid Gold. this helps fight discoloration and build up the surface to protect against small scratches. i have never once polished my accordion in the many months i’ve rented it so i’m not a good example, but it will help the longevity of the instrument.
as for common mistakes, all my mistakes are in my technique. for weeks and weeks my teacher had to constantly get on me about the position of my hands. on the left side where your basses are, the accordion is held close to the body, elbow back and pulled nearly flush against your side, heel of palm firm against the edge of the accordion, and fingers curled in an extreme “claw” position. i would ALWAYS fall out of position, flattening my fingers and waving my elbow about, and long term that is awful for your hand. the claw position is very hard to explain so i would recommend watching a demonstration of it, but it will save you a lot of pain in the future.
on the right side of the accordion, it’s good to hold your elbow out. the hand is supposed to float above the keyboard, fingers curled on the end though not as extreme. if you curl your finger, the playing of the notes is a lot stronger and more precise as opposed to flat fingers slapping around. try it, the difference is striking.
my teacher has thrown many songs my way, most of which i love. she claims all her students hate them lol but they’re old and sweet sounding and some of them have gotten permanently stuck in my head. my two favorites right now are Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes and In The Good Old Summertime. the former is veeeery good for beginners. it felt like a doozy to me as someone with zero previous music experience, and it was to learn, but once you get it down it’ll be so deeply ingrained in your psyche that you’ll never be able to pry it out. i can play it with my eyes closed [which isn’t saying a lot considering you don’t typically see much of the accordion while playing, but it sounds cool to be able to say]. the latter is a lot more complicated and i’m still kind of grappling with it but i just ADORE the tune. it’s so incredibly satisfying when you get it right. oh, and don’t forget Daisy Bell. simply cannot go wrong with that one. way more difficult, lots of bass changing and skipping around on the keyboard, but it’s so worth it.
also, i have to wonder; are you getting yours used or new? i’m guessing new but i am obligated to ask because used accordions can be so difficult to find in beginner friendly condition. either way, i am SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!! this is a great thing! with your passionate and whimsical soul, i have no doubt you’ll be blasting past me in no time. keep in mind i haven’t been practicing regularly or at all in the last couple months because of the job i just quit so i’ve kind of stagnated for now but tomorrow i’m actually going back to class for the first time in ages so things are looking up!
the accordion is a really difficult instrument to learn but if my unfocused and impatient adhd self can learn, so can you. i know you got this! and please keep me updated on your journey!!
